Nancy L. Klemme, 65, Anaheim, Calif., passed away peacefully on Jan. 3, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sheboygan, Wis., on April 4, 1946, the daughter of Ralph and Marcella (Mayer) Klemme. On Sept. 25, 1993, she married Rev. Charles J. Lopez, Jr. and they made their home in Anaheim, Calif.

Nancy attended Rockville School in Schleswig County for grades 1-3 and continued her elementary education in Kiel. She was a 1964 graduate of Kiel High School and attended Wisconsin State University, Whitewater.

Nancy had a long 45 year career in histology with Shandon Lipshaw Corporation, Pittsburgh, Penn., and most recently served as Director of Technical Support at Sakura Finetek US, Inc. in Torrance, Calif. While at Sakura, she was the Managing Editor for the HistoLogic Journal, a technical and scientific resource for hospital labs. Throughout her management career at Shandon and Sakura, she provided troubleshooting for their laboratory instruments and has been in all the major hospital laboratories across the United States, Canada and Mexico. She attended the annual Fall meetings of the National Society of Histo-Technology and was a presenter of technical/scientific papers. She was a registered member of Medical Technologists with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists since 1972, as well as the National Society of Histo-Technology.

Nancy would always lend a helping hand to others and enjoyed being a reader for the blind on Wisconsin Public Radio in Madison, Wis. Nancy had a passion for interior design and home improvement and designed an addition for her sister's home, as well as designing a kitchen and bedroom remodeling project for her family. Nancy loved to sing, listen to music and play the piano. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Charlie. Nancy was a lifelong Lutheran and follower of Jesus. She taught Sunday School and sang in church choirs. Nancy always had a positive attitude throughout her life, even amidst her struggle with cancer. She was loved and will be missed by family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Marcella Klemme, Gilbert, Ariz.; her husband, Charles Lopez, Anaheim, Calif.; and her sister, Faye Koger, Gilbert, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Klemme; her infant sister, Susan Klemme; her paternal grandparents, Harry and Elsie Klemme; and her maternal grandparents, George and Paula Mayer.

Her funeral and reception will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday, Jan. 14, beginning with a viewing at the church at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. She will be buried at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, Calif.
