H.E. BOLDT SUMMONED SATURDAY
Former State Senator and Leading Citizen of Sheboygan Falls Dies At Hospital
Herman E. Boldt, 75, former state senator, first mayor of the city of Sheboygan Falls and a man with an outstanding business and public service record of nearly half a century, passed away at Memorial hospital at 9 p.m. Saturday. While it was known that Mr. Boldt was ill, the news of his death nevertheless will be a shock to his many friends in the community, for he was one of the leading citizens of Sheboygan Falls and of this county. His genial personality, his keen interest in all things affecting public welfare, won him a host of friends throughout the county.
Mr. Boldt was born in the town of Sheboygan Falls on May 13, 1865, a son of Sophia Danckwardt and John H. D. Boldt. On Sept. 21, 1895, he was married to Minnie Arnoldi, of the town of Sheboygan Falls. He lived in Sheboygan Falls since 1892. Mr. Boldt had seven children, six of whom survive him. A daughter, Myra, preceded him in death. Mrs. Boldt died in Madison on Jan. 19, 1927. Five grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Frank Thierman, also survive him.
Masonic funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Boldt at the A. E. Ranschart Funeral home at Sheboygan Falls at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Herbert Stanten will also conduct services, and burial will be in S. Lucas cemetery on Highway 42. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 4 o'clock this afternoon until the hour of services. {Sheboygan Press, Thursday, April 10, 1941}
