Else

She was born Dec. 26, 1912, in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late Jacob and Ella (Dickman) Maurer. She attended Louis Corners schools.

On April 30, 1938, she married LeRoy Laack. The couple lived and farmed in the Town of Plymouth until 1956. They moved to Plymouth, and Anita lived in her home on Reed Street until moving to Salem Green in 2002. Her husband preceded her in death, Nov. 23, 1970.

Anita had been employed part-time at Stokley Van Camp in Plymouth.

Anita has been a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth. She also had been a member of the Plymouth Garden Club. Her family was important to her, and Anita enjoyed sewing and baking, but mostly, Anita loved working in her gardens, where she was most at home.

Survivors include: a son, Ronald, of Hayden Ala.; a daughter, Ella Mae (Mark) Sander of the Town of Rhine; four grandchildren, Rose Mary and Carlos Laack of California, and Steven and Scott Sander; a sister, Gladys Yankee of Denver; a sister in-law, Jeanette Maurer of Kiel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Daniel, Harold and Harvey Sr. Maurer, and a sister, Orvilla Stoeckigt.
