John Roger Larsen, 62, of Blackduck, died July 12, 2005 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born August 9, 1942 in Blackduck to Roger and Edna “Pat” (Oldenborg) Larsen. He was raised and attended school in Blackduck. He worked for several years for Barton’s Construction in Minneapolis. From 1969-1974 he worked for Page and Hill Wood Products in Big Falls. He spent the majority of his career operating his auto body shop in Gemmell from 1974-1997.

For his remaining years he worked as a carpenter in the community and worked for the Minneapolis Star Tribune delivering newspapers.

He is survived by his father, Roger R. Larsen of Bemidji; a son, Roger J. Larsen of Litchfield; three daughters, Karolyn Larsen of Mizpah, Ann Youngquist of Coon Rapids, and Jonna Smith of St. Anthony; three grandsons and five granddaughters; two brothers, Randy Larsen and Gary Larsen, both of Blackduck; three sisters, Nancy Finlayson of Bemidji, Sue Segersten of Key West, Florida, and Cindy Ellingson of Bemidji; a special friend, Brenda Olson of Gemmell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna “Pat” Larsen; a son, Damon J. Larsen; and his sister, Karolyn McNair.
