Services Held for Mrs. August Dahl

Monday, Feb. 6

Mrs. August Dahl passed away at the Mercy hospital in Williston Thursday after an illness of about three months. Funeral services were held in the First Lutheran church on Monday with Rev. Milo Engelstad officiating.

Louise Reese Dahl was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Reese and was born February 1, 1872 (sic) in Trondhjem, Norway. On August 16, 1906 (sic), she was married to Mr. August Gerhard Dahl and the young couple came to the United States going to Duluth, Minnesota. In 1912 they came to Mckenzie county and made their home at Banks until 1937 when they moved to Watford City.

Mrs. Dahl was a member of the Garden Valley Lutheran church.

Her husband preceded her in death, passing away in May, 1940.

Three daughters survive to mourn her loss. They are Mrs. Fred Schultz and Mrs. Olga Ihlenfield, both of St. Paul, Minnesota and Mrs. Jay Judkins of Watford City. Other survivors are one brother, John Reese of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Pall bearers were Arne Opsta, Oscar Wold, Tom Opsta, Bennie Hagen, Marvin Helle and Elmer Erickson.

Her two daughters, Mrs. Schultz and Mrs. Ihlenfield came from their homes at St. Paul to attend the final rites.
